XSI DirectX9 Display - XSI could not create a DirectX9 surface
Problem
When you start XSI, you get this error message:
XSI DirectX9 Display XSI could not create a DirectX9 surface, please install DirectX 9.0b or better
Solution
What you can do is rename this file:
%XSI_HOME%\Application\directx\DX9Display.dll
to something like
%XSI_HOME%\Application\directx\DX9Display.xxx
You won't have support for DirectX realtime shaders, but you will be able to run XSI.
Notes
At startup, XSI tests for DirectX, and right now the test is a little too strict.
We don't have a fix for this available yet, but the problem will be addressed in the next release of XSI.
