Troubleshooting - Licensing on Vista
[edit]
Vista and the License Manager
Most licensing problems on Vista are because the License Manager does not have Administrator privileges.
For SLP Licensing (Foundation and Student/Teacher), the License Manager generates a different request code depending on whether or not is had Administrator privileges.
To always run the License Manager as an Administrator
- Click Start > All Programs > Softimage Products.
- Right-click License Manager and click Properties.
- Click the Compatibility tab.
- Under Privilege Level, select the Run the program as an administrator check box.
- Click OK.
Now when you run the License Manager, you will be able to start and stop the license server.
