How do I run the License Manager on Vista?

On Vista, you must run the License Manager as an Administrator:

1. Click Start > All Programs > Softimage Products.
2. Right-click License Manager and click Properties.
3. Click the Compatibility tab.
4. Under Privilege Level, select the Run the program as an administrator check box.
5. Click OK.

How do I generate a request code ?

To generate a request code:

1. Start the License Manager (click Start > All Programs > Softimage Products > License Manager).
2. Click Manage Key Database.
3. Click Generate Request Code.
4. Click Save.
5. Send the .req file (by default, it is saved in C:\spm)

Where do I download older versions of XSI, like 4.2, 5.11, or 6.02 ?

You can download older versions of XSI 5.11 from the Previous Versions section on softimage.com/downloads (http://www.softimage.com/downloads).

1. Go to http://softimage.com/downloads/previousVersions/default.aspx
2. In the list of products, click OLDER VERSIONS.
3. Scroll down until you see the links for the version you want to download.

How do I upload files to the Softimage FTP site?

1. Point your browser to ftp.softimage.com/incoming.
2. Then open a Windows Explorer window, locate the file you want to upload, and drag the file from Windows Explorer to the browser window.

Why can't I download Face Robot?

I'm sorry, but we do not have a Trial version of Face Robot. The Face Robot downloads are for customers who have already purchased Face Robot.
