Store an Action for a Path Animated Object
Question
"I am unable to store an action for a path-animated object using the Actions > Store > Transformations - FCurves command."
Answer
To store actions for an path-animated object, you must first mark its global parameters (in this case, the global Pos parameters) as you do for constraints. This is because constraints are animated in global space, not local space, and a path is a type of a constraint.
1. Mark the global transformations Pos parameters (kine.global.pos) of the path-animated object, not the constraint itself.
2. Store an action source using the Actions > Store > Marked Parameters - All Sources command on the Animate toolbar.
OR
- Without marking anything, select the path-animated object and choose Actions > Store > Transformations - All Sources to create an action source for all parameters on the object, no matter how they are animated.
