Sprites that are set for the particle type are not being rendered

Symptom You have a particle system that contains multiple emitters for the same particle cloud. You then set up the particles to render sprites, with each particle type of each emitter rendering a different sprite (select Sprite in each particle type's Shader Shape page). You apply the Particle shader and notice that the sprites that are rendered do not match what you have assigned for each emitter.

Cause In the Particle shader's property editor, you have deactivated the option to use the sprite set for the particle type.

Solution

1. Select the particle cloud and choose Modify > Shader or open the Render Tree.

2. In the Particle shader's property editor, select Get Shape from Particle Type. If this is not active, the particle cloud renders only the sprite that you have set in the shader's property editor, regardless of what you have set for the particle type.
