Setup fails with error loading type librarydll

When running the setup, the splash screen appears, then immediately the following error appears: 

 "Setup failed to launch installation engine: Error loading type library/DLL"


Cause

The most likely cause of this error is deleting stdole32.tlb from the machine, such as by removing some other application. The Stdole32.tlb file is part of all 32-bit Windows versions and should never be removed.

Solution

Reinstall the stdole32.tlb file and make sure it stays put! It should be located in %SystemRoot%system32.
