Rigid body dynamics simulation doesnt follow objects initial animation

Article needs peer review

Symptom

Rigid body dynamics simulation doesn't follow object's initial animation

Cause

This may be because XSI can't calculate the object's velocity because it's animation starts on frame 1 and the simulation also starts on frame 1.

Solution

Start the simulation on frame 2 by editing the simulation time control node in Explorer (change scope to Environment), or offset the object's animation so that it starts on frame 0.
