Preview using the camera from the camera viewport

Article needs peer review

Symptom Your scene contains multiple cameras and you have selected a camera other than the default one as your viewing camera. Problem: You want to Render>Preview a frame using the non-default camera, but SOFTIMAGE|XSI always uses the default Camera to preview.

Cause In SOFTIMAGE|XSI the preview, similar to the render, is using the current pass' camera and is not linked to the viewports.

Solution

Set a viewport to Camera>Render Pass so that way you are always looking through the rendering camera.

OR

From the Render toolset, select Render>Options... Access the Format tab and define the desired preview camera from the Output Camera text box pull-down menu.
