Offset map does not work with globally animated heirarchies

Article needs peer review

Symptom

You have a hierarchy of objects or skeletons that is animated with global keys. You have stored an action for this animation and created a clip for it in the animation mixer. Now you branch-select the hierarchy and use the offset map to the action. You notice that the offset map does not work correctly for all the objects in the hierarchy (the second action does not start of where the first ended). In fact, the offset seems to work only for the top parent of the hierarchy.

Cause

If you animate globally, it does not matter if your objects are in a hierarchy or not. Nothing is inherited if you have global transformation keys because they override any parent-to-child inheritance.

Solution You must apply the offset map to each of the objects in the hierarchy, one at a time.
