How To: Generate and Submit a License Request

Click Start > All Programs > Softimage Products > Softimage Licensing > Lictools.

Tip If you see this warning

********    Generating key request code    ********
SPM_WARNING (C:\WINDOWS\system32\spm\spm_keyib.exe): No licenses from SOFTIMAGE
installed yet.

don't worry. As long as you see something like this:

then your license request was successfully generated.

See Troubleshooting if you get a different error.

To copy the license request to the clipboard:

1. Select the license request in the Generate Request Window. The license request looks something like this:

2. Do one of the following:

   • Press CTRL+C.

   -or-

   • Right-click and click Copy.

To submit a license request:

1. Go to the Customer Portal at http://www.softimage.com/customerPortal/Default.aspx
2. Click Help and then click Request License
3. In the Company Name field, enter your name (or the name of your company if the company purchased the upgrade)
4. If you have your Customer ID, enter it in the Customer ID field
5. In the Quantity field, type "1"
6. In the Product list, click "XSI Advanced All OS-v6.0" or "XSI Advanced Windows-v6.0"
7. In the Dongle Request Code, paste your request code
8. Click Submit

After you submit your request, you will receive a confirmation e-mail message. Then, within the next two business days, you will receive your license key. After you install the license key, you can start working with XSI.
