Error: Unable to contact service Manager


The license server is a Windows service (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_service).

The "Unable to contact service Manager" message means that the License Manager is unable to install, start, or stop the service.

Try re-installing the service:

  • In the License Manager menu bar, click Service > Uninstall License Server Service.
  • Then click Service > Iinstall License Server Service.


If you are running XSI on Vista, it could be a security problem.
