Error: License server service is in a transition state

Problem

You get this error message when you click Get License:

Solution

Try reinstalling the license server service:

• In the License Manager menu bar, click Server > Uninstall License Server Service.
• Click Server > Install License Server Service.

If that doesn't fix the problem, try this:

• Open the Services console (click Start > Run, type services.msc, and click OK).
• If the service is paused, click Stop.
