Customer Portal


The Softimage Customer Portal (http://www.softimage.com/customerportal/) is an online tool where you can get and manage the licenses available in your Softimage user account. Most of the workflows are similar to those of the Windows-based license manager.

The Customer Portal is accessible from any computer with an active Internet connection, and therefore, you are not limited to licensing your Softimage product from the same computer where your license server is installed. This is particularly useful for license servers on non-Windows platforms or for license servers that are unable to connect to the Internet and cannot use the automatic "get license" process.

Below is a quick overview of the Customer Portal features.

Manage Account

This section of the Customer Portal allows you to modify and update your Softimage user account information.

Get License

This section of the Customer Portal allows you to obtain licenses for Softimage products that do not require a registration code. Examples of these products include: SOFTIMAGE XSI Advanced | Essentials | Academic Editions and SOFTIMAGE Face Robot.

With a regular Softimage user account associated to a particular company, you can view and download all the current licenses that have been pre-generated for the license servers in your company.

With license administrator privileges, you can view and download all the current licenses as well as assign the new licenses for the license servers in your company. In the event of a license server failure, the license administrator can also use the Panic Button to set up a backup license server with a temporary copy of all the licenses.

Get License with Registration Code

This section of the Customer Portal allows you to license Softimage products that require a registration code to activate the license. Examples of these products include: SOFTIMAGE XSI Foundation.

To download a license from the Customer Portal, you must provide a valid request code generated from your license server, and a valid registration code that was provided to you at the time of purchase. Enter both codes into their respective fields and click Generate. You will be able to download your license and install it on your local license server.

Missing Licenses

If you think you are missing licenses, or you are unsure of their status in the purchasing process, click the Missing Licenses >> link on the Get License page. This tool allows anyone who is entitled to licenses but unable to access them, to start an online investigation process with the Softimage licensing team to restore or correct any anomalies that might exist with their account.
