Creating Edge Loops (Splitting Multiple Parallel Edges)

XSI has several features for creating new edge loops by splitting parallel edges.

  • Modify > Poly. Mesh > Split Edge Tool lets you split edges interactively by clicking on them. If you middle-click, it will automatically create an edge loop.
  • You can also select edges and choose Modify > Poly. Mesh > Split Edges (with Split Control) to open a property editor. If you activate 'Parallel Edge Loop', it will create an edge loop. The Carver Tool (http://raffael3d.com/tools/carver.xsiaddon) Script lets you assign a hotkey to press, so you no longer need to click the checkbox.
