Welcome to the Softimage COLLADA converter wiki. This is the central repository of information and releases of the COLLADA converter for Softimage products.

COLLADA - An open Digital Asset Exchange Schema for the interactive 3D industry. COLLADA is a COLLAborative Design Activity for establishing an open standard Digital Asset schema for interactive 3D applications. COLLADA is designed to be the center piece of Digital Asset toolchains used by the 3D interactive industry.

• [09/27/2006] Long overdue update
  • COLLADA 1.4.0 is now completely integrated in XSI since version 5.1. It happened this spring.
  • We released a patch for XSI 5.11 for both our Foundation, Essential and Advanced users. It fixes a few issues that were reported by our users. You can find it at http://www.softimage.com/downloads in the converters section
  • We did a presentation at Siggraph to demonstrate a use case where COLLADA is used in a collaborative environment, you can find the zipped Powerpoint presentation here (http://softimage.wiki.avid.com/images/3/3e/Towards_a_3D_asset_standard_-_COLLADA_integration_in_XSI.zip)
  • And we are working hard on improving our 1.4.0 support, supporting 1.4.1 and the incoming 1.4.2
