Character not cycling when clips added in mixer
Article needs peer review
Summary
You create the first and last steps of a walk cycle and made an action clip out of it in the mixer. If you repeat the clip, the character doesn't go forward but jumps back to its starting position when it cycles.
Steps
- Locate and select the parent object that moves the whole hierarchy, it's usually called global srt.
- Copy the same clip right next to the original one in the mixer. Go to the last frame of the first clip, select the global srt and mark the translation by selecting it on the selection panel, right-click and drag to the start of the next clip (this will keep from refreshing) click offset map. This added an offset to the second clip, you have to clip off the first frame of the second clip, the shortcut is "[" then place the clip one frame back.
- If you open the clip properties of the offsetted clip then to clip item properties, you will notice there is a this+xxxx that's the offset effect.
