Cannot capture sound

Symptom

You have added an audio file to the animation mixer but there is no sound when you capture the animation from a viewport (with Start Capture ).



Cause

This is partly due to a known bug, but you can still capture sound along with the captured animation by following the steps below.



Solution

  1. The solution to the bug is that the animation mixer has to be opened atleast once, after the scene has been opened, in order to be able to capture sound(you do not need to keep the mixer open after this).
  2. Choose File > Preferences and make sure Play Audio When Scrubbing is selected on the General page in the User Preferences property editor.
  3. In the Capture Viewport property editor, make sure that Record Audio Track is enabled.
